Koyasan is the spiritual center of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism. The temple lanterns have continued to burn since its founding in the year 816. Students stay in a temple and are attended by young men training to be Buddhist priests, enjoy traditional shojinryori vegetarian cuisine, have the opportunity to participate in the mediation and attend the morning service. For this truly different experience we have packaged Koyasan as an easy extension to your tour itinerary.
